Year 5 – Welcome to Term 6!

Captain’s log…
We start our exploration of space with our trip to Herstmonceux Science Centre in Hailsham.
We are looking forward to the hands-on experiences.
In class, we will be finding out about the planets in our solar system and how they move in relation to the sun. We will be creating lunar artworks and designing our own space vehicle.
In our English lessons we will be studying ‘The Last Wild’ – Piers Torday.
It is the first in a trilogy of books that looks at the relationship between humans and the world we live in. Perhaps you will be inspired to read all three books?
As part of our music curriculum we will be learning about the music of Edvard Grieg, studying the music genre of Motown and continuing with our ukulele instruction.
P.E., this term, will see us honing our athletics skills as well as team building with a range of problem-solving activities.
