Meet our Governors

Harj Burrha • Chair of Governors

I strive to help shape the future of our children’s education and welfare by helping the school deliver high-quality education that will prepare the children for success in life.

Harj grew up in Gravesend and attended Holy Trinity as a pupil, and therefore has a strong connection with the School. After his school journey, Harj went on to gain an honours degree in Computer Science and had a career in IT, working for both start-ups and large global organisations.

Currently, Harj is the Global Engineering Director for The Access Group. With his extensive experience of leading global teams and projects, throughout countries such as the United States, Canada, Malaysia, India, and various European countries, Harj brings his expertise to help develop the Local Governing Body of Holy Trinity in providing the best education for the pupils in attendance.

Ruth Irons • Vice Chair

I became a Parent Governor at Holy Trinity as I wanted to give the parents a voice on the board. I really care about the school and every single child’s education.

All parents want their child’s school to be the best it can be. Ruth currently has two children at the school which allows her insight into its strengths, successes and areas for development.

Having a qualification in accountancy enables Ruth to be well-placed to assist with financial and strategic decision-making; as she feels she has always been able to get across her views in a non-biased professional way while making sure feelings are considered.

Lara Amunsan • Trust Governor

As a school governor, I am committed to contributing my expertise and passion to promote excellence in education and the well-being of all students and staff. I am eager to leverage my experience to support the school community, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

With over a decade of clinical pharmacy expertise across community, prison, and primary care, I’ve honed my skills with a singular focus on patient care. Amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, I actively contributed to the South East Primary Care Transformation Board, demonstrating my unwavering commitment to improving healthcare outcomes. My journey, from holding senior positions to managing multiple sites, reflects my dedication to making a tangible difference.

Now, as a Senior Clinical Pharmacist in general practice, I bring a unique perspective to the role of school governor. My passion for patient centered care aligns seamlessly with the nurturing and supportive environment essential in educational settings. I understand the importance of fostering growth and development.

Tony Smith • Co-Opted Governor

I am currently Vice Chair of the Aletheia Academies Trust and have been co-opted to the Local Governing Board of Holy Trinity to assist its development.

After gaining a degree in English, Tony taught in a variety of secondary schools, selective and non-selective, and gained long experience of senior leadership.  Following his retirement from secondary headship, he has worked as a consultant, supporting school improvement for national organisations, a Local Authority and individual schools and academies.  He has wide experience of governance of primary, secondary and special schools.

Oluyinka Dosunmu • Trust Governor

I am gratified to bring my diverse experience and training to serve as Community governor at Holy Trinity C of E Primary School.

Oluyinka trained as a mechanical engineer in her first degree in Nigeria, she then went further to train as a chemical and polymer engineer in both Nigeria and USA.

Since graduating, Oluyinka has taken an interest in education; teaching at various levels. Presently, she teaches KS2 pupils Maths and English as well as KS3 students Maths as a private tutor. This has enabled her to stay up-to-date with the Primary Education Curriculum (Maths and English) and Secondary Education Curriculum (Maths) in England.

Oluyinka is an active member of her local church in Gravesend, being an ordained deaconess, as well as leading the youth group as the department head in the church. She has also raised two boys who are now adults, aged 28 & 24 years.

Adebiyi Lawal • Trust Governor

Being a school governor will enable me to invest in the learning and development of Children and young people and a way of getting involved in the community.

Adebiyi is a former teacher, and project manager who has a vast understanding of budgets, deadlines and deliverables. He prides himself on being an analytical, insightful, and highly-disciplined problem solver with an appetite for new challenges. Lizzie Burton • Parent Governor

I am passionate about all children having access to the absolute best education possible. My children attend the school, and as a parent governor, I want to support children at primary age as this is such a momentous time for young children’s development, as well as engaging children to have fun whilst learning. My educational background allows me the opportunity to serve the local community by supporting the school in this parent-governor role.
